The Mission
So we must open our hearts to the Good, and as the Light fills our hearts, outward manifestations, an outer journey, will parallel the inner Journey, for the emotions of goodness and love motivate actions. Again, this is why the Good may also be referred to as the Lord. We give ourselves to the Lord and in doing so become instruments of the Lord. As we learn to love others, we also learn to cooperate, help others, and not behave selfishly - we become moral beings. The most important moral undertaking is to work to make this a better world. The biggest thing we can do to bring about a better world is to help others find the Light within themselves. In doing so, we directly help others find the most important thing in life, spiritual wholeness; in doing so, we also add another to the cause of good. The best way to help others find the Good within is to work to spread spiritual values. I call this undertaking the Mission.
Three important points concerning spreading spiritual values effectively: First, through the power of the Lord, we have the potential to change the world. The pure goodness which is the Good permeates the heart of every human being. These feelings tend to be reflective. Feelings and actions of goodness towards others will by and large elicit a like response from others. Goodness is contagious. Many will vehemently disagree with this conception, for those who have filled their hearts with selfishness and cynicism will see the world as basically brutal and others as basically selfish. These people have been mislead by their own ignorance, fears, and insecurities. Put it to the test. Treat others with selflessness and you will see that they will treat you with the same. Every one of us is linked to every other in a lattice of ethereal power. The Good runs through us all. The power of the Lord works through this network, which I call the Lattice. Working through the reflectivity of the Good, the power of the Lord is the power to bring people together. It is easy to underestimate this power if you have not experienced it, but once you have opened your heart to the Good, you will understand that it is the greatest power that you will ever behold. One manifestation of this power is the power of people working together. We should work with others of the Good to spread spiritual values. Together, we stand. Divided, we fall. The power of the Lord helps us spread spiritual values in another way as well. Because the Lattice touches everyone, each of us has within the desire to be a good person. Even those who outwardly appear selfish and hateful feel this desire deep down in their hearts, burning like an ember. So as we work to spread spiritual values from the outside, the Lord is also quietly at work on the inside. Because the Good is contagious, the cause of good has the potential to grow geometrically. Through the power of the Lord, we can make this a better world, a world in which the strong protect, and the wealthy give, and the blind see, a world in which the darkness of cynicism and selfishness is illuminated by the Light.
Second, one of the most effective ways for those who have opened their hearts to the Good to communicate spiritual values is to simply be. Simply being good people and doing what good people do sets an example, and many learn best by example. Strong, pure hearts serve as compelling examples. People wish to be like those whom they admire and respect personally. The acts of goodness and, when needed, sacrifice naturally performed by people of the Good also serve as compelling examples. These acts powerfully and overtly demonstrate goodness and, consequently, are one of the most effective ways to awaken the Good in others.
Third, to effectively spread spiritual values, it is critical that we communicate the value of spirituality with a message of openness to different beliefs. Because the Journey is a personal one, spiritual beliefs are individual and personal by nature. We should not require or expect that others will accept the particular beliefs of any one of us. This is arrogant and counterproductive. If any one purports to require others to accept his or her beliefs, then those whom he or she wished to reach are likely to reject both the beliefs and the person. The goal is to spread spiritual values, not particular beliefs. We should communicate the fundamental, core ideas necessary to understand the value of spirituality and respect for individuality.
To each of us, the beliefs of others serve as guidelights on our own Journey. By this, I mean that when we view the beliefs of others with our hearts, we see truth shine through. Truth shines all around us if we know how to see it. The truth we see in the beliefs of others guides us on our own Journey. When we communicate our beliefs to others, we should do so in this vein, and this is how I wish this work to be viewed. These are my most intimate beliefs. I sincerely hope that some will find some truth within them. I wish you only the best on your own personal Journey.
